Dr. Michael C. Cooper has been a participant in our ecological assessment of the Muskegon River Watershed from the beginning of the project. In addition to contributions to the statistical analyses (Dr. Cooper is a professor of Statistics and Accounting at Ferris State University), he has been hosting a permanent monitoring station on his residence outside Big Rapids for the past two years. This site is primarily agricultural, with the majority of his land dedicated to pasturing his three horses. The neighboring land is also agricultural, and serves as an active farm. Dr. Cooper’s ranch, while not immediately riparian, is within the Muskegon River Watershed, and lies Northwest of the Muskegon River itself.
